Hey all .. ok this one got me scratching my head .. have a tower PC which boots up like a proverbial b****. Boots to the "Windows Loading" screen then seems to stall for 2-4 minutes ... then the desktop loads but again takes 2-4 minutes for the icons to appear .

It running Windows Xp home sp3 .

I have used msconfig to turn off all unneccessary programs

Also Run AVG , Malwarebytes and Wise Reg cleaner . All now return clean status's .. but start up still the same .. now run out of ideas so asking you guys (and girls) for any other ideas

Backup and do a clean install. Quickest and easily the most pain free solution.
