Slow boot up

I am running a laptop with XP prof and have a wirless card for use at home and on a corporate network. After the login screen it shows a blue screen for anything up to a minute before displaying the 'configuring personal settings' etc. from then it is ok but takes ages to load the system tray. I had a problem with the laptop and started again as a new user. At this point it was ok again but has reverted to being slow again. I have reloaded Zone Alarm and this appeared to make it slower as well. Any ideas?

I am having a similar problem with a Domain connection.
If I get a reply I'll send on the info. Did you get a
resolution?

Hi All,

To anyone experiencing the "Slow bootup in XP when running Norton
AntiVirus since January 7, 2004" *gasp* problem ... I believe I may
have found a solution.

Try downloading and installing new root certificates from Verisign,
from the following location:

https://www.verisign.com/support/roots.zip

This solved the problem for me - I hope it works for you all too!

Regards,

Trevor Pinnington.
