Slow Boot up

Hi! Can someone explain why a Windows 2000 server crawls
before it get to the desktop during boot up right after I
join it to the AD? But when I remove it from the domain it
runs fine.

Thanks,
John

Are you waiting for _all_ hard disk activity to stop? Is there a login
script that it's running that might be slowing it down? From the sound
of it, this isn't a DC, just a member of the domain. Is that correct?
Quite a few variables, can you please be more specific?

What do you see on the screen while waiting? If the server seems to hang on
"preparing network connections" then you may have a DNS configuration
problem. Where does the server point for DNS? Have you checked the system
event log for errors? You may see errors from netlogon. If there are any
errors there you should post them in the group.
