Hi,
I too have noticed a boot problem in Windows XP Home
since the last critical update. It looks like it doesn't
have anything to do with the logon process, but only with
the boot.
For me the delay is about 2 minutes. If I let my
computer boot and walk away for about 3 minutes, THEN log
on, it's as fast as normal. But if I wait and log on as
soon as I see the logon screen. then the system hangs
with almost no HD activity. About 30 seconds in I see my
desktop picture, and then another 1.5 minutes the Autigy
sounds play, and I get all my icons.
I ran the bootup sequence against BootVis several times,
but don't see anything out of the ordinary in there
during the delay.
Removing Critical updates 824141, 823182, 825119, 828035
have shown no inprovement, nor has running "ipv6
uninstall" as I saw on another post.
If anyone has found the cure for this please post it.
Thanks,
-Brian
