Slow boot on some icons

When my computer boots up there are normally seven icons on the taskbar.
They usually load one after the other with little delay. Recently, the last
two to load, take about two minutes to load. There is some floppy disc
activity, I don't know if this means anything. I cannot do anything on the
computer until these lst two icons (zone alarm and avg anti virus) load as I
get the hourglass symbol. Any suggestions on how to speed this up. I had
installed SP 2, but restored the system to an earlier time due to huge
problems. Everything else functions ok after the last two icons appear.

Start/Run/type MSCONFIG and click OK
Click the Startup tab and uncheck/disable everything except your Zone
Alarm and AVG. Click Apply and Close - Reboot.
Now it should boot faster. Disabling does not delete anything, it only stops
loading applications and robbing your system resources. You may also check
into adding more RAM to have a faster PC.
