Slow at switching to Contacts

Si

Hi,
Everytime i switch from Mail, calender, tasks, notes etc.. to Contacts it
takes around 20-30 seconds.

Is there anything i could do to speed this up.

I have a lot of emails in my sent folder (which i need to keep for work) so
it makes my outlook backup.pst file well over a gig, will this affect the
problem im having?

Im running
Outlook 2003 (Sp3) 11.8217.8221
Windows XP (SP3)

Thanks
Si

Do you have pictures in your contact records? Do you have the Google Maps
plug-in for Outlook?

I don't think that's a factor.

In the Navigation pane, right-click on the root of your PST (the Outlook Today
icon) and choose Properties. Click Advanced and examine the "Format" field.
If the field mentions "97-2002", then it's ANSI. Otherwise, it's Unicode.

There is no mention of "97-2002" so its Unicode

If this were to happen to me, I'd probably try a new mail profile and if that
didn't work, a new PST.

You'll have to explain what you mean by your "backup copy of Outlook 2003" and
"will not reload to the outlook program". Exactly what are you trying and
exactly what happens when you try?
