Slightly OT: windows xp pro/home cd

Christo

I installed linux on my home computer... please dont stop reading haha

anyhow

I really want to uninstall it and the way i have always done it is to delete
the linux ext3 [partition and the linux swap partition in windows using
acronis disk directory or something like that,

Well when i do it this way the GRUB bootloader screws up and i am basically
unable to boot into windows, I know how to fix this problem i just need to
ask a question about the windows XP Pro and windows XP Home Cd's

I have XP Pro installed, would i be able to do a "fixmbr" and a "fixboot"
using the windows XP Home cd? Or will i need to use the XP pro disk to do
this?

i would assume that ill need to use a pro cd to fix a pro master boot
record, but you never know?

anyone?

TIA

Or get a WinME floppy disk. Boot it, and type fdisk /MBR.
I`ve done it a dozen times bacause of Grub, and Lilo.

it still doesnt answer my question if an XP home cd will be eniough to do a
fixboot or fixmbr

I've used a win98 boot floppy to run fdisk /mbr to wipe out grub or lilo...
so the winME bootdisk should be fine too
