slideshow control bar

Whenever I play a slide show, the control bar -the one on the bottom with the
play/pause button, exit, themes, etc.- is kind of distracting. And whenever I
move my mouse or a key it always reappears. Is there any way to chance the
settings so that it doesn't appear unless I want it too?
