Slide Timing

I have a presentation that I have manually set the timings on each slide.
After the speaker stops speaking I have pictures that keep coming in and out
replaced by a new picture. If I set the timing on 30 seconds, it does not
go to the next slide until all of the pictures have finished coming onto the
screen even if that takes 40 seconds. Is there anyway with timing to move
the slide while it is still having pictures coming in and out.

The slide transition time is
EITHER
The time set
OR
The total time for animations
WHICHEVER IS LONGER

That's why it waits for the animations to finish and ignores the 30 secs.
Why would you want it to move on before the slide is finished?

No, animations will complete before the slide transitions.
