Slide scan problem with DimageScan Dual II

I use a Minolata Dimage Scan Dual II (2820 dpi film/slide) scanner.
This one scans color negatives without any problems but when I scan
slides (cardboard mounted), the output is completely black - meaning,
there's no image at all.

I've tried using the supplied software (Eas scan Utility) as well as
VueScan but the output is still the same.

Can you please tell me what could be the problem?

Must be some anomally in your system. I have the same thing and it
does slides (and B/W and Color Negs) just fine. I am using the
Minolta-supplied program.
