sleep and won't wake up

I have read this thread and didn't see where the problem got solved.
Can someone respond if this issue has been fixed.
We have a new gateway desktop with vista ultimate and we have had this
problem from day one where neither the mouse nor the keyboard responds when
we put the computer on sleep.

Thanks

This has been a LONG running and unresolved issue with Microsoft
Windows software. EVERY Windows based computer I've build and I've
built many over the years sometimes for no reason hangs during sleep
mode and nothing you do short of forcing a hard shutdown will restore
it. For me, it isn't a daily thing, but it happens often enough to be
a pain.

One suggestion... when your PC is "sleeping" and you attempt to wake
it up, just be patient. On this system for reasons unknown it may take
up to 10 seconds, even longer to show any signs of life. During this
time I just wait for it to respond. Attempts to repeatedly wake it up
almost always results in locking the system up instead of waking it
up.

I went through a protracted involvement with Microsoft techs in an attempt to
resolve the issue. Didn't help and I finally gave up on it. I never put it
to sleep now. I just turn it off and on. Works well.

Cheers, Don.
