slave to master

All.

I would like to move my current slave drive to be the master and remove the
current master from the computer.
To start with a ‘clean’ drive again I’ve reformat and installed a fresh
clean copy of XP Pro on the slave. So now on boot up I get a choice of which
drive I want to use.
I tried just swapping over the drives, changing the jumper on the actual
drive slave to master), but that did not work (I received an error message on
boot-up, of which I can’t remember but it was something like NTFS).

You probably got an NTLDR or NTDETECT not found message. All you need do is
reinstall the ntldr file. Visit my web site at:
http://freespace.virgin.net/john.freelanceit/index.htm
Click on the Win XP Faq button and follow the instructions in Question 37.
You might like to reboot yuor machine first to make sure that the error i
have quoted is the one you are getting.

Tried the proceedure as noted on your web page, but no good. The computer
will not boot from the CD or floppy drive. Checked the BIOS and is set for
booting from the removable drive before the hard drive.
The fault code is NTLDR.

I can't even seem to get to a C: promt either, just the alt/crt/del to
restart message.
