Site Advisor Problem and IE- Windows Update

I have been having Site Advisor Problems lately. IE crashes and says it is a
siteadvisor.dll causing the problem.
Site Advisor crashes and then turns around and locks IE (happens on IE 7 &6

Also when trying to do windows updates- it just sits there with green bar
across and just sits and sits and sits then comes up with an error msg.

Well after trying to do the security updates on 10 computers today I decided
to uninstall Site Advisor and Walla! no more crashes and it went into WU
just fine.

I then put Trend Protect on 3 computers and tried WU again and no crashes or
errors.

So if you have Macafee's Site Advisor on IE and notice the same problems I
am having uninstall it and see if that fixes the problem. seems there is a
conflict with site advisor and IE

Hi Robin;

Not seeing that here with IE 6, and SiteAdvisor 2.4.0 build 6066 (3/30/07).
They still seem like the newlywed couple. What version of SA were you
seeing that on, if you still remember? Perhaps you just gave us a hint not
to upgrade it right now, thanks for the alert, if that's what happened in
your case.

I am still having some problems with Comodo's Verification Engine 2.4.0.6
and IE but only on one site and not at all on FireFox, although I do like
having it enough that I'm willing to put up with the IE lag for at least a
while longer.

this was the latest version but the prior version had problems too and i
figured if i installed the latest things would get better but they did not.
I wanted to just inform others if they found that IE was misbehaving when
going to WU and having site advisor installed. This way they could take
site advisor off and see if the problem goes away.
like it did for me
