Since last update, Outlook crashes every time I try to send/receiv

After the last Microsfot update, I am no longer able to use Outlook 2007 for
sending or receiving messages. I have stopped it and restarted it, I have
rebooted the system, I have shut down the system and restarted it, I have
looked for new updates. Even if I just send an e-mail to myself or a friend
and only have "Test" in the subject field and "Test" in the Text area, the
program still bails, core dumps, what ever else you might want to call it.

Suggestions?

Suggestions? Yes, how about you tell us why you can't send/receive... any error messages? If yes, what is the exact text?

The exact scenario is that went I am composing an e-mail or replying to one
and then hit the [Send] button, the hour glass cursor goes up for a while and
then the "Microsoft Office Outlook has encountered a problem" dialog box pops
up. I have sent Microsoft the error reports when this does happen, but have
received no reply from them yet.

Have you tried using Office Diagnostics to see if there is something misconfigured? Have you tried running scanpst.exe?

Thank you for the suggestions. I tried both suggested procedures and sending
the message still core dumped. I wll try removing the virus scan on sending
(I use McAfee) and see if that does any good.

I disabled McAfee's virus scan on incoming and outgoing e-mail and then
restarted Outlook. There was no change in behavior. It still core dumped.

Have you found out what was causing Outlook to crash when trying to send or receive?

I have the same issue with Outlook 2000. The core Dump also occurs when trying to open a Contact or received an email message. Have reinstalled Office 2000 from scratch and run all the available updates from Microsoft's site. I have this issue on one PC only. The portable Dell and an older self made PII work fine, with all updates installed. I have AVG on all PC's and it does not influence the issue. When the core dump takes place there is not message popping up at all.

Love to know how you fixed the problem?
