Simultaneously connect to Active Sync and GPRS

Dear All,

I am developing an application which connects to the Java Server using
TCP/IP. My problem is, this Server System is not Accessible to my PC
due to some security reasons. So that to test the application i am
following following steps

1) Connect Windows Mobile to PC using Active Sync
2) Upload application .exe to Mobile
3) Unplug Mobile from PC
4) Activare GPRS
5) Start application
6) Application connects to the server and performs transactions

(I am not able to debug the application because Device is not
connected to the PC, and if i connect the Device to the PC, GPRS
connection is lost)

My questions are -

1) Is it not possible to connect to the GPRS at the same time when
Mobile is connected to the PC.
2) How to activate/deactivate GPRS automatically when application
starts and closes

The answer is "it depends". Tell us *something* about the device! It's
Windows Mobile 5 or 6, for example? Windows Mobile 6 should have an option
to not disconnect other networks when connecting ActiveSync (I don't have a
WM6 device, but I think the option is set in ActiveSync on the device).

If you have a device where this option is not available, you can't,
reasonably, keep GPRS on while ActiveSync is connected. The reason for
disconnecting it is a good one (security of your local network), and so it's
not something easy to bypass. There have been some discussions in the past
with people who have tried to do this. You can use GoogleGroups Advanced
Groups Search to look for those threads in the group archives. I don't
remember anyone actually reaching a successful conclusion, but I could be
wrong about that... You'd want to search microsoft.public.windowsce.*, as
well as this group.
