simplified chinese application

my os is
english version win 2k server
with regional setting config to support simplified chinese

I installed a simplified chinese application but all
chinese charactor become "?"

I can browse simplified chinese web site, and can read
chinese charactor.

What can i do to make my system supporting simplified
chinese application

Does installing Traditional Chinese fix this issue?

"traditional chinese" is the chinese used in Taiwan and
Hong Kong

"simplified chinese" is the chinese used in made land China

I can install "simplified chinese" version of windows 2k
to solve the current problem, I dont want to re install my
os.

Is there any other way other than reinstalling os?

Not a problem at all.

You will need your WIN2K CD to copy some files. But not to reinstall OS.

Control panel->Regional options->General->Language settings. Select as
many as you like.
