signatures in outlook

We have to have a signature on our emails at work but for some reason this
disables the spell checker.
The only way around it that I have found is to type above or below the
signature (or to copy the text from word which sort of defeating the point).
It is also a bit random because sometimes the spell checker works and
sometimes it doesnt.
Do you know a way around this?

the reason is because we have our company logo at the top and a standard text
format (bookman old style - blue) we have to use too...

hope that helps - btw the problem happens with or without the logo

A signature should not be used a stationery. For the layout you should
define a stationery template.

Hey,

sorry to be a pain - I have tried to define a new stationary but I cant seem
to find where to do it.
