SIDHistory

I am taking over a network migration midstream, from an NT 4 to a 2k3
parallel domain. I was wondering if anyone knew of a way I could check to
see if the NT 4.0 user accounts already migrated with the Active Directory
Migration Tool were migrated with the SIDHistory. I am assuming the method
for this would be the same for 2003 as 2000.

The previous person working this migration refuses to give me any straight
answers, so any suggestions on how I could find this would be most
appreciated.

Thanks.....

SIDHistory is an attribute on a user object. Since it is empty by default unless SIDHistory was migrated (or somebody manually edited the attribute, if it is populated at all, then SIDHistory was migrated for that account

So you can use Adsiedit or LDP to view the attribute, for Adsiedit -

- Expand out the Domain NC for your domain, then the container where the users reside (Users container or an OU under Users, etc.), find a user you want to check, right-click that object, properties, view the sidhistory attribute.
