Sidewinder game pad

Hi.
My new WinXP computer doesn't come with a Game serial
port, so I recently got a USB adapter for it. However,
when I plug it in, I get Unknown Device messages. I've
looked at all the troubleshooters, and none of them help.
On searching through the product support pages, it seems
that MS doesn't provide XP drivers for the sidewinder
pad.Can anyone help?

Liam, you'd be better off (1) getting a game port card instead of trying to
convert a non-USB device or (2) take the converter back and use the money
toward a USB controller. Windows XP has the drivers for game port devices
already built into the system, so they run just fine. The only thing is you
can no longer create profiles or switch button assignments unless it is
supported by in-game Options.
