Sidewinder force feedback

Has anybody managed to get the force feedback working with the older force
feedback pro joystick in Windows XP?

I have. Can you give me more information on your system and what you are
seeing and I can try to help you? What kind of sound card do you have and is
there more than one gameport on the system. Check your BIOS to make sure
there isn't another gameport. I have seen at least one system that had
gameport funtionality with the onboard sound but didn't have a physical
connection for it.

Are you saying that you have the Microsoft force feedback stick working,
complete with force feedback on the windows xp operating system?
That would be great!
The joystick works. But the force feedback doesn't.
Xp3200 SoundBlaster live value sound card.
It does recognize the gameport.

Yes that is what I am saying. =) I am the one who tests about eighty
different joysticks for DirectX and Windows OS compatibility for Microsoft.
That particular device gets tested all the time. I don't know much about
your hardware though other than the stick and your SoundBlaster Live! Value
sound card. At this point I would venture to guess the most likely reason
you don't get forces is that there is an onboard sound card with a gameport,
even if there is not a physical connection for it. If that is the case you
will need to disable the onboard gameport (may be called MIDI port). What
would be happening in that case is that the force signals that are sent to
the device to be played are being sent to the first gameport the BIOS sees,
which is hte onboard, when you are really connected to the one on the SB
Live.

If that is not the case can you send me or attach a DXDiag report of your
system and I'll see if there is any information in there that would lead me
to the cause?

DXDIAG:
1. Click Start -> Run
2. Type "dxdiag" without the quotes and press Ok.
3. In the DirectX Diagnostic tool click "Save All Information..."

Thanks.

I looked at your report and I would say that it is most likely a case of
having 2 gameports on the system. The report indicates you have a "Standard
Game Port" and a "Creative SBLive! Gameport". You should try to find a way
of disableing the Standard Game Port device that is more than likely the
gameport associated with the nVidia nForce Audio.
