Hi Dan,

Have you installed this program in the machine before? If so, you could
have a try uninstalling the the program from the machine first and then
reinstalling this program.

I noticed that there's information about CystalReports.Engine.dll file in
the detailed error message. Do you use CrystalReport in your program? If
yes and you don't install VS 2005 on the machine, I recommend you to
install Crystal Reports for .NET Framework 2.0 component
(CRRedist2005_x86.msi) on the computer before you install the program. You
could find the component file at the VS set up directory, such as
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio
8\SDK\v2.0\BootStrapper\Packages\CrystalReports".

Hope this helps.

Sincerely,
Linda Liu

Linda,

Thanks for your reply!

It looks to me as if the problem was in the *.manifest and *.config file for
the application. Specifically, the encoding "parameter" was different in the
two files.
One was set to Windows-1251, the utf-8. When I set the 1251 in the *.config
file to
utf-8, my problem when away.

You may want to research why this is happening.

Thanks again!

Hi Dan,

Thank you for your reply and feedback on how you solved this problem.

It seems that the encoding parameters in the application config file and
application manifest file must be consistent.

I have a try in VS 2005 adding a applicaiton configuration file into a
project, the default encoding format is utf-8. Perhaps you change the
encoding in the config file by chance or create the config file with other
editor.

If you have any other questions in the future, please don't hesitate to
contact us.

Have a nice day!

Sincerely,
Linda Liu
