Shutting Down Remote Computers

Hi,
I have a program that I have downloaded to be able to shutdown computers in
my house, it wont work and I don't understand why Can someone help?

Tell us more about your setup.. You don't need a program to do the
shutdown for you if you are doing it from a computer on the network.

The more information you can give us the more help you will find.

Well it is a Gateway Computer it is connected to the network how do I
shutdown the computers without a program?

Ok, You have a gateway computer.. Is your computer running windows,
windows 95, windows 98(se), windows xp, windows 2000, Linux? Which one?
The other computer you are using what is it running?
