shutdown problem

I have a machine running XP MC. I downloaded regular updates a little
while back and these included updates for the motherboard, ie the BIOS.
After that whenever I turn the computer on it goes on a black screen
which asks me to press F1 for setup or F2 to continue; And that the
floppy disk failed. I would like to get rid of this. I do not have a
floppy drive and even the boot sequence has HDD as the 1st choice. Is
there anything I can do about it?

Thanks

It's not a good idea to install different updates at the same time. Note
also that a BIOS update is *not* a regular update and that's where your
problems comes from. See if there is an option to disable the Floppy
disk device within the BIOS setup. This is not a Windows issue - ask the
manufacturer's Tech support if you need further assistance.

Thanks Detlev. I'll contact the manufacturer.
