Shutdown multiple computer from domain

Please help...
i was summit thi question at another group but can't solve..

I have < 1000 computer user at forest connected to the domain.is there
anyway
to shutdown all computers using script (GPO startup/login Script) specified
at 08:00 PM ??
For information i using windows 2000 domain environment .

have you looked at the Resource Kit utility "shutdown.exe"? you could script
this in a login script, but it would be very challenging. first challenge,
get everyone to login again in order for the script to run, even those who
aren't in the office the day you wish to implement. the second challenge is
to figure out how much time will elapse before 8:00pm for each computer as it
is logged in. using this calculated time for each individual computer to set
the "time" before the shutdown is triggered. you may want to search the MS
Script guys site to see if anyone has created such a script. good luck.

Sysinternals has a free product, psshutdown. you can set a batch job/script
to be executed at the shutdown time to tell all the computer to shutdown.
We use it here when I have a need to reboot a computer that has been left on
and the Windows Updates have not been applied.

Thanks for respond guys.
another problem with psshutdown and shutdown.exe, user must share admin$ and
not firewalled , but most user remove admins$ and they have firewall and
their Computers

any idea ?
