Shutdown and Restart

It is taking forever to shutdown or restart my notebook, before I was able
to shut down in 5 secs and now it's taking at least 30 secs, along time when
your waiting for it.
The only thing I can think of was running a reg patch

What programs/applets have you installed since "before"? With a bunch of
background tasks running, 15-30 seconds seems about right, as each one has
to be terminated safely prior to shutdown!
