Shut Down

Hi Guys

My sysem is As follows
Win 2000 professional, 256 meg ram, 20 gg hard drive , celron 2.4, realtek
ac97 audio.I have justhad my hard drive reformated and 2000 installed last
week
I am having trouble shutting down . I use the start menu then shut down then
choose shut dwn n the window but it keeps restarting. When the screen goes
black before it restarts it will not tun off at the on button of the box. So
I have been turning it of owith the switch on the back panel when the screen
goes black before it restarts.

Have you checked into the latest BIOS for your motherboard?

Sorry I forgot to say that I had a new mother board and bios put in at the
same time had the harddrive reformated
