Shows wrong shared My Documents

Each computer on peer to peer network dragged My Documents from My Computer
to Shared folder - however when networking, each shows only as a shortcut
along with other shared items on that computer. When that shortcut \\other
computer\My Documents is clicked, it only opens My Documents on the host
computer - not the shared network computer.
How can we access each others My Documents folders?

The My Documents icon on the desktop is only a shortcut (to C:\Documents
and Settings\currentuser\My Documents) so all you did was copy the
shortcut, which still points to the same place. While you can move the
underlying folder elsewhere on the same machine, it is not AFAIK
possible to have such 'special folder' pointers referring to a network
location
