Can someone tell me if it is possible to show only the working hours in work
week view. If not why does my dispaly start ay midnight despite setting the
working week at 0800? If the view would at least start at 0800 instead of
0000 that would be a great help. Thanks

Thanks at least that clears that up! Do you know the answer to the second
part of my question? To get the view to display 0800 at the top.

When I open my calendar to the day view, the scrolling region starts with
the time I've set as the start of my workday at the top (although I can
scroll back to see earlier hours).

So what you are saying is "no" it is not possible to only display your
work hours (set under Options > Calendar Options) in Outlook? Just
need the clarification, black and white answer.

If that is the case I completely understand because maybe you want to
add or view an appointment/event that is outside that time. If you
only are viewing your work week hours, you would have to go into
Options, change your work week hours, and then you would be able to
see that event/appointment. Then change the work week options back if
you want back to previous setup. Seems like a pain to me. Besides is
work week hours really in place for the Schedule Meeting feature in
Outlook/Exchange? So when someone invites you can see when they are
available in addition to their Free/Busy information?

Hmmm mine doesn't!! That's wahtI was hoping would happen...but in both day
view and work week it shows the whole day with a different colour for the
work times. In fact I can only scroll up and down about two hours so can't
even hide the early hours of the morning manually. Any clues??

what time scale are you using? what is your start time? what happens if you
change the start time and refresh the view? (it shows the new start time at
the top of the window)

No, it is not possible to set outlook to display only working hours. FWIW,
if it were an option, it would likely be a radio button to swap back and
forth from all day to working hours... or a different view.

Yes, the scheduling feature on appointments can show just working times.

That's what I'm saying. You cannot see only your working hours.

The Scheduling tab of a meeting or appointment will show your OWN work day
time, starting from the hour nearest your start time and ending at the hour
following your end time. For example, if you have start and end times set
to 7:30 AM and 4:30 PM, the Scheduling tab will show times from 7:00 AM to
5:00 PM. Outlook assumes, I guess, that you won't be interested in
scheduling a meeting with anyone outside of your own work day, regardless of
the other person's work day. In fact, Outlook can't see the other person's
start and end times, ony those times the other personhas marked as busy or
tentative.

I didn't say it doesn't display the entire 24 hours. I see the ehntire 24
hours, just as you do, with my work time showing in a brighter color than
the non-work times. What I DID say is that the scrolling region is
positioned so that my start time is right under the gray "all day event"
area. I can scroll back and see the times prior to that because they're
still displayed.

You can right-click and "Open in a New Window" and then manually adjust the
window to the size and shape you want (maybe even the position on the
screen), and Outlook will remember you had two separate windows next time you
start the application.

Is that of any help? I seemed to remember something about an O.S. saving
window positions (the X vs. Y on screen placement) when you "Close" something
while holding down the <Ctrl>, <Alt> or [Shift] key (one of them). That may
have been a MacOS thing though...

I'd be happy if I could get my calendar to start with showing the start of my
workday just below the all day events -- instead of 5AM. My workday starts at
8AM. I have reset my view, thinking maybe there was something in my
customized view. Any ideas? Thank you. John
