Show and sound won't play when emailed

I am running PP2000. I created a slide show with sound that launches
automatically and plays throughout the slide show.

I emailed the slide show to a friend. They downloaded it to their desktop.
When they tried to launch it (ie double click on it), it opened in the
powerpoint software rather than launching the slide show and the music
wouldn't play. What am I doing wrong?
