Should I wait until the 24th

In June ZipZoomFly drop the price of some of their AMD CPUs
(Venice core chips). I understand from reading web forums that AMD
will drop the price of thier AM2 and 939 socket chips after July 24.

I wonder. Has ZoomFly drop their prices in advance of AMD's drop
or will they drop their chip prices again after 7/24/ 2006.

It really depends on when ZoomFly buys their chips.
Any chips they buy at the higher price, they will sell at the higher price.
I would assume they will not buy new low price chips until their current
chips are sold out.
So it's anyone's guess.
Wait until after the 24th, have patience grasshopper.

Absolutely!

I have been waiting this price drop out for a while myself. Everything I
have read says major savings are on the way with the nicest be the X2's.
What I have read is the 3800X2 which has hovered around 300 bucks for about
a year will finally see a major drop and fall to the $150-$175 range. I buy
everything from Newegg and in the past the way price drops have generally
gone is this; Say Amd drops the 3800X2 to $170 the day after the
announcement Newegg would drop from $300 to about $250. In about another
week it will drop to about $200 and at roughly a month from the price drop
date it will be selling for about where it is going to stay until the next
price change.
So do not expect a major drop the next day in retail prices but a month
from now there will be and unless you just really need a machine now, have
money to blow, or do not care about the additional performance wait it out a
month.

Have my entire system purchased and ready to go minus the CPU. Thanks to
this NG, I am waiting for the price drop. I had budgeted for a AM2 4200+
but with the upcoming price drop, I am going for the 5000+.

Patience is running out, tired of waiting. lol

Thanks for the heads up!
