Should I upgrade to Access 2003?

I'm part of the information technology staff at a high school, and we've been
discussing whether or not we should update from Access 2000, which we have as
part of our Office package, to Access 2003. We decided to do some more
research, and I've been tasked with looking into the benefits of upgrading.

So I thought I'd ask people in the know; what advantages would I have in
upgrading?

We use Access at the moment mostly for organising school information -
student and staff bios, for instance - but also teach a certain amount of
Access use in class.

I have found it to be considerably more stable and less prone to corruption
during development, than Access 2000. I do think that the stability is bound
to newer computers though. A 5 year old computer seems to crash a lot with
it. Running it on an XP machine, that's less than 3 years old is fine
though.

Some of the security efforts may inhibit some of the work you do, but they
are easily disabled, so that shouldn't be much of a problem.

There are also a few enhancements to previous Access systems, but your
existing environment is more than sufficient for what you are doing. The
chief reason I think you may need to upgrade is that you cannot buy machines
with old software. Office 2000 technology is over 5 years old and has been
eclipsed by newer, more stable, technology.
