Should I install MO w/fp FIRST? or FPSE?

If you have XP Professional as your OS,
you install IIS and the extensions from your
XP install disk via Add/Remove programs.
I would install it after FrontPage.
If you have XP home, you can not install ISS
or the extensions.

Extensions first.

thanks .. did that - just waiting on the answer now (and I HOPE this is the
last quwestion I have on this! LOL) for whether to install the
fpse02_x86_eng or the FPSE1002 first? and then I'll install Office xp ...and
pray :-)

Pam

1. Have you install all Windows Updates, if not do so.
2. Install Office w/FP, then install all Office updates

yes, I'm current on all updats from the windows update site - what about the
2 files I was told to download - should I install the pfse02_x86_eng or the
FPSE1002 first? and that's before office w/FP ... right?

Pam,

Can you provide the link to those two items?

remember - I haven't installed fp 2002 yet from the Office xp cd - that's
why I don't knwo whether to install these two files before or after I
install fp

Pam,

You can install Office/FP at any point as it is separate from the server
extensions.

It seems that you need to install FPSE1002 then fpse02_x86_eng update.

Pam,

When you install FP, any extensions on the CD are not automatically
installed.

Ok......sigh.....did everything as told....I rebooted, then opened fp - when
I click on Network Places, and then on localhost - it says:

FP has determined a web server conflict on port 80 which has server
extensions for FP PWS but is running M IIS/5.1 server. FP requires that you
install the FP Server Extensions on this server.

then it tells me that there is a help file to tell me how to do this - but
the help file can not be found......

help??

Pam

however.....even after I have to hit cancel cancel cancel because of the
conflict it is finding....it ends up creating the new web at the localhost
level???

Ok...I think I fixed it - I went into the FP MMC and right clicked on the
folder 80 - and removed serve extensions....then reopened fp and clicked on
localhost - and it opened beautifully - then created a website...went
smoothly...BY GEORGE! I THINK I HAVE IT!!!

thank you all for helping me get to this point!!!!!!

Pam
