Should I have a password to login?

Hi

My previous posting regarding setting up scheduled tasks, resulted in the
suggestion that as I did not have a login password that my system was
insecure in some way.

If I use Norton firewall and Netgear router/firewall, do I still need a
password for my pc? What is it protecting against?

I run windows xp pro, on two machines connected as a peer to peer network.

Thanks
J

The password is part of a layered defense. The bad guys have access to the
same programs/hardware and can find ways to work around them. In other
words, no system is 100 percent secure.

You take the risk, you pay the consequences for it.

Windows can be setup with a password and you can set up your account to
automatically logon using the Run command - control userpasswords2
