We Live For The One We Die For The One

I have an Athlon Xp 2000 cpu. Now overclocked.

512meg of 2100 ram stock speed.

Upgrading from A geforce 3 Ti 200.

About 350 bucks Australian is the limit i will pay FOR ANY video card.

And this one is in the price range.

How much faster would this card be to the one i have ?

Was going to get a 9500 Pro, but 9600 pro seems better, even though
alittle more :0

Thanks.

The AquaMark3 benchmark www.aquamark3.com has this info in its database:

GF3 Ti200:
XP2000 @ 1666MHz, 45.23 drivers, AquaMark3 score = 11,889 (11.9fps)

ATI 9600 Pro:
XP2000 @ 1666MHz, 6378 drivers, AquaMark3 score = 25,585 (25.6fps)

Get the benchmark above and test your system then compare to a 9600 video
card. You can do the same thing with 3DMark2001.

It looks like a good upgrade to me. You would gain DX9, and more than double
your performance in the AquaMark3 benchmark. Also, with the 9600 Pro you
would be able to turn AA and AF up and not lose so many fps that games
become unplayable.

Isnt the 9500 Pro a little faster then the 9600 Pro?

I replaced my GF3 Ti200 with the sapphire 9600 Pro - would have loved to
have the 9800 Pro but cant justify the expense. Very pleased with the new
card - the difference is amazing - not just in speed but in how different
the games look with the settings jacked up and AA etc. JFDI

It is but not significantly so and the price difference isn't
justified IMNSHO. I think the 9600 Pro is probably the best bang for
buck card on the market at the moment.

Jeez it'll be alot better and its an excellent card. Want someone to
make the decision fer ya?

Y'know, I never hear anyone talk about the 9700non-pro...

I don't know the exchange rate, but if you could get one of these in your
price range...

Way better than either the 9500pro or 9600pro, even at slower clock
speeds...

At default speeds, however the 9600 Pro appears to be a better overclocker.
Also some have higher than default core and memory speeds.

Another fairly rare card though. I've seen plenty of them advertised but
the lower priced vendors are always out of stock.

Alot faster too
Marginally faster, perhaps! Besides the 9500 runs hotter, requires more
power and may not as overclockable. And you guessed it; I have a 9600Pro.

I'm not sure how much 350 Australian is in USD but you might want to get a
Radeon 9800 non-Pro; great value and performance that will trounce either of
the cards you mentioned. They can be had for about 250USD.
