Dragged D: and E: out of My Computer, dropped on the desktop to create
shortcuts. When clicked on, they put up an error saying the target of the
shortcut can't be found, and asks permission to delete the shortcut--the
usual thing that happens when the shortcut has an invalid path. However, the
shortcuts have the correct D:\ and E:\ paths in them, and the icons inside
My Computer work just fine. So does typing "D:\" or "E:\" in Start->Run. If
there were no disk in the drive, I'd expect a "no disk in drive" error, but
the shortcuts don't work at all even with disks of various types in the
drive. This is on a brand new e-Machine running XP Home. Any ideas?
