Shortcut to Outlook Express doesn't work

Until now I've been using two shortcuts to Outlook Express, one on my
desktop, and the other is on on the taskbar on Internet Explorrer.
Since I took mu computer in for maintenance the IE one doesn't work.
Could you help me reactivate it, please?

Delete the shortcut that doesn't work and make a new one.

I tried it by clicking on "Customize", then highlighted "Mail", and
deleted it. Then I went to the list of "Available toolbar buttons, and
clicked the "Add" button. Then I tried to bring up Outlook Express by
clicking on the new button. It still doesn't work. Do you or others
know what I'm doing wrong? Thanks.

the default location is:

"C:\Program Files\Outlook Express\msimn.exe"
------------------------
with the above line
you can create a short cut
or launch it via start>run

however if the location as
noted in the above line
doesn't exist on your disk,
then you might try to explore
for its new location.

The IE icon on the toolbar, is titled "Mail".. is that the one that
won't work properly? If so, try these:

1. Click Start, "Set program Access and Defaults", click the
double-down-arrow to the right of the radio button that is filled, click
"Outlook Express" under "Choose a default email program", and OK your
way out.

2. Open Internet Options, Programs tab, set Outlook Express as your
email client, click OK. The "Mail" button might start opening OE then,
maybe after a restart.

Hi Joe -
I tried what you suggest, but only got as far as 'click "Outlook
Express" under "Choose a default email program". This option wasn't
there, only "Use my current e-mail program". Is there some way to get
around this problem? Thanks

Have you installed Windows Live Mail on your computer?

Look in "Set program Access and Defaults" again, click the "Custom"
button, expand it, and see if OE is listed there. If so, select it and
OK your way out. Did you try Internet Options to see if OE was selected
there?
