Shortcut to mdw file

Hi,

Please help.

Is there a way to point to a work group file in a shortcut
without using a referencing a drive letter. I want the
users to copy the database and shortcut from the network.
However the short cut includes my map drive letter to the
security file which more than likely will be different
than the users drive.

Thanks

Gwen

yes. Put the actual path. For example...

\\Servername\somefolder\

What if the path is too long (my shortcut only allows a certain number of
chars in the "Target" area)? Is there a way to allow for longer paths other
than moving the folder to a location close to the drive letter top folder?

Hi Gwen - I had the same problem.

Right click the shortcut and then click properties.
Change the letter of your drive (i.e. P:\) to the name of
your drive (i.e. \\public\..). Works like a charm.
