Shortcut icons

I have Windows XP SP2. My folder icons used to indicate with a small arrow
in the bottom left-hand corner when they referred to a shortcut. I have
noticed that this arrow is no longer there on any of them. When creating a
new shortcut there is no arrow on the icon. I don't know how this has
happened. Could someone please advise if it is possible to get this back
and how.

Install "TweakUI":

TweakUI > Explorer > Shortcut Overlay: Arrow.
