shifting data without inserting new cell

B

Brian

Hi. Here is my situation. In column A I am listing the
days of the week Monday through Sunday and these repeat
for X number of weeks. In column B I an listing a event
that corresponds to a day in column A. Nothing gets
entered next to saturday or sunday though. Is there a way
to shift the data in column B down and have it skip the
saturday and sunday row? If not the data from Fri. moves
to Sat. and the data from Sun (which is blank)moves to
Mon. Thanks for you help. (I can e-mail the file to you
to show you exactly what I mean if things are unclear.)

Did you tried using insert cells. u can entered no. of
cells to be inserted based on where you want it to be
inserted. like just before a monday then insert 7 cells.

Brian,

If you are entering this data manually, protect the
Saturday and Sunday rows, that way the cursor will skip
the protected rows and only allow data entry in M - F.

Charlie. All data is entered at the start of a project
and the schedule needs adjusted as it changes. Protecting
the worksheet will allow me to insert a whole new row but
it will not allow me to insert a new cell within one
column. Any other suggestions?

Sometimes the schedule only needs to move down a day or
two not a whole week. Any other suggestions?
