I believe that the following gratuítos programs are essential:

Spybot. Search & Destroy
Program to scan in search of spies. Also resident option. Castilian and
updateable by Internet. To update after installing. It remembers to immunize
the first time after installing and each update, when there is it.

Ad-Aware
Seemed to the Spybot, but more complete. In fact both share many data of the
data bases of spies, but always there will be one will pillará what not
pilla the other. To update after installing. Updateable by Internet and in
Castilian.

SpywareBlaster
Program to prevent activex malicious which they unload in the Explorer often
if to know we if they are absolutely trustworthy or no. It acts in real time
monitorizando all access to Internet. Updateable and in English. It
remembers to update when installing and to give to Inable all after
installing it. After loading some update to add the new elements to the data
base in the main screen.

As far as firewall I recommend ZoneAlarm

and antivirus McAfee

chuck,

Do a Full system scan with all 3 option boxes checked in normal Windows
mode ( click Scan options to access Full system scan ), then boot to
Safe Mode, and do Full system scans until the malware is no longer detected.

To start the computer in safe mode
