Sharing Violation

Hmmm...

I just downloaded a demo called ULTRA_RMCONVERTER.EXE - it is suppose
to convert Realmedia files to mpeg2.

I double clicked the executeable and a dos screen popped up then
disappeared.

I checked the task manager - it is not there. So I try to delete it
from the desktop - I get:

Cannot delete ultra_rmconverter.exe: There has been a sharing
violation.
The source or destination file may be in use.

I virus scan it and run spybot - nothing.

I cannot find the process in the task manager. I reboot and come up in
safe mode - same error!

Cannot delete ultra_rmconverter.exe: There has been a sharing
violation.
The source or destination file may be in use.

How do I get rid of this file. I did a Google search - nothing on it
about spyware, viruses or sharing violations.
Any suggestions?

A couple of options:
- Check your services (run services.msc) - it may be hiding there.
- Reboot with your Win2000 CD, then get into the Recovery Console
to delete the file.

Before you use the second option, you may have to give yourself
full access to all folders while in the Recovery Console:
- Run gpedit.msc
- Local Computer Policy / Computer Configuration / Windows Settings /
Security Settings /
Security Options / Recovery Console: Allow floppy disk access . . .
- Set this policy to "Enabled".
