Sharing tasks

How can I see the Outlook tasks I create on one workstation on a different
workstation? This issue came up because the power supply died on a PC that my
assistant uses Outlook to keep track of invoices by creating an entry in
tasks and she wanted to be able to see the tasks on a second PC that we
configured with her Outlook email user name and password. My understanding
is that Outlook saves the tasks and inbox emails in personal folders on the
PC's hard drive. I use Bellsouth DSL here, so I don't think I use a
Microsoft exchange server. I have a Windows 2000 server and all the PC's are
part of a LAN workgroup. Is there some way that Outlook tasks could be saved
either on the Bellsouth mail server or my office Windows 2000 server so they
can be accessed by any workstation whose Outlook settings are configured with
the user name and password of the user who created the tasks?

Hi Alan,

My understanding
is that Outlook saves the tasks and inbox emails in personal folders on
the
PC's hard drive.

Outlook saves all information (tasks, calendars etc.) in a "PST" file.

Word saves all documents in ".doc", Excel in ".xls", Outlook in "PST" files.

This PST files normally can not be shared, only with 3rd party tools.

Oliver,
It looks like "Public Sharefolder" might work to allow members of my
intranet workgroup share the tasks in our Outlook folders. Is this what you
recommend I use? Do you recommend a different approach?
