sharing properties - unable to add user (local or domain)

After fresh install of W2000Workst and ServicePack4 I
can`t add /change users when setting up a new share on C.
It has only " All users" and does allo nor display any
user list (local or domain) . The error mesage is "
unable to display user seledction dialog"

I can however see all the user profiles (local and
domain). When setting up a new domain user I can only addt
manually by tyoing domain name and user name - can not
obtain domain users list by browsing ... ?

Any other suggestion then reinstall ?

On the machine that your on, is your DNS server setting the IP address of
your 2000 domain controller?
