Sharing problems

I have a file server with shared folders set up. Originally the folders were
set up and shared so that everyone on the network had full control of every
file in those folders. I decided I that not everyone should have full
control of the shared folders. I set up groups and only granted full control
to those users that needed it. Then I denied access to those users that did
not need access to those folders. That is when my problems started.
Apparently, I have screwed up the security and access permission of some of
those files. Now I want to go have the folders shared the way they were
originally and give all users full control of every file and folder. I
tried removing the shares and recreating them and not change any share
permission or security permissions but several files are still denying
access to users. I would appreciate any help getting this figured out.

Thanks

Sounds like an NTFS problem rather than a sharing prob.

Select one of the folders and remove any shares. Then recreate the share
granting "Everyone" full control. Then in the security tab of that folder
click "advanced" - in there click Add and again select "Everyone" and grant
full control. Back in Advanced check the box that says "Reset permissions on
all child objects........" and click "Apply".

Hope this helps
