Sharing Problem

John Doyle

When I try to access Microsoft Excel on a shared pc I get this message;
'This action is only valid for products that are currently installed' I
have ticked the sharing boxes and can't figure it out.

It means install Excel on the machine you are using or setup a terminal
server and use remote desktop.

Did you install File and Printer Sharing?

if so, that means you can only share files and printers. Not software, not
faxes, not scanners.

So, if you want to open an Excel document from PC "B" on PC "A" that is only
possible if PC "A" has it's own copy of Excel already installed.
