Sharing BCM for Outlook 2007 between remote locations

Our company has two locations, 1 in Seattle and 1 in Sacramento. We are
trying to use BCM 2007 as our CRM solution but I cannot find a way for us to
reference the same database, or to easily synchronize our databases. Is
there a solution here other than switching to a non-MS solution? Thanks in
advance for any suggestions!

You could host the database in one location and have the others
connect to it over a VPN, but the network latency may make Outlook/BCM
too slow.

An alternative is to synchronize the two a regular internals by
mailing exported file (e.g. all the records modified in the last week)
between sites.

We have a similar issue but with outside salesman. Is there a way to direct
the database using an ip address and a port number to forward to the hosting
computer?

We don't have a VPN so I dont know how to do that. I do have a static IP and
can port forward to the hosting if this is possible.
