Sharing a document template on a network

Is there anything special I need to do when I want to share a document
template with other users on a network besides save the template to a network
drive (rather than the templates folder)? I am using Word 2007 Windows XP.

Thanks!

you can designate a folder as your workgroup templates.

In the long run, it might pay off to distribute the needed templates to
each client (with a logon script). That way, folks can work even when
they don't have access to the server, and it's easier for you to update
the template.

Hi Vicky
Could you explain how that is accomplished? I've never done it before.

you can set Workgroup templates via Office Button | Word Options |
Advanced and there in the leftmost button right above Compatibility
Options (sorry, have to point you to it like this, since I'm using a
different language version right now :)).

As for a logon script method, sorry: I'm no IT Pro (i.e., never had to
administer a corporate network), but the folks who do should know. The
script shall copy the files in the user's template folder (which can be
set through the same dialog as above).

HTH!
Robert
