Shared Folder disappears after a while

Hi all,

I have a network with a Vista and an XP computer. I have created a
"transfer" share on the Vista machine that I want to use for reading
and writing from the XP machine. The user names and passwords are
different between the computers, so XP prompts me to enter user name
and password whenever I access the folder. When I enter the correct
info, everything works - I can access and write to the folder.

When copying lots of data onto the folder, I noticed that after a
while, the share simply disappears. My file manager screams bloody
murder ("Folder can't be accessed"), and true enough, when I try to
access the folder via network, the share is gone.
I've tried the same not using UNC path, but rather my mounting a drive
letter - same thing. After copying a few GB of data, suddenly the
share locks up.

The Vista PC is connected to the network all the time, and never
rebooted during that time.

What might cause my Vista folder share from suddenly locking out my XP
computer? Anything I can try?

Thanks!

Robert
