Shared calendar - Outlook 2003

If my wife and I both have calendars and want to share them using our home
network , I understand that we cannot do that without having Exchange or a
3rd party sharing program.

However we don't really need separate calendars - that is to say we could
both share the SAME calendar provided we can both get access which
presumably is simple through the network. The Outlook .pst file(s) could be
located in a shared folder.

Or am I being naive ?

Just welcoming data corruption. Shared read-write access to the same pst
file can be ugly.

It was a good idea while it lasted !! I can do without data corruption.
