Can anyone explain to me in a step by step guide how I can share m
favorites folder between my desktop and my laptop.
I have used the "set up home network wizard but the favorites dont sho
on the laptop.
In plain english if possible as I don't understand PC jargon.
Any advice really appreciated.
Thanks

You have to share the folder explicitly, and you may need to set Explorer to
show it. In Explorer (not Internet Explorer), choose tools, folder
options, view, and select "show hidden files and folders". You may also
need to de-select "hide protected operating system files". Then, you will
be able to find the Favourites folder, which will be somewhere like this:

c:\documents and settings\{your account name}\favourites

Right-click on it and choose Sharing and Security, and set it to shared.
Choose OK back to the desktop and then look again from the laptop.

You can also simply copy the favourites folder to disk and move it that way.

Pam,

This guide should help:

Share your Internet Favorites with other systems in a Workgroup:

-or-

Use Microsoft SyncToy to keep the two Favorite locations (desktop and laptop) in sync.

Download details: SyncToy v1.4:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...54-C975-4814-9649-CCE41AF06EB7&displaylang=en

SyncToy helps you copy, move, rename, and delete files between folders and computers quickly and easily.
